Tadej Pogačar took the victory in Stage 19 on July 24. The Slovenian rider launched an attack on Alpe d'Huez and finished well ahead. Only Richard Carapaz managed to get close. Pogačar's group carried teammates who felt ill earlier in the stage but the leader held his form. His lead grew bigger on the last climbs. Two days prior, Carapaz took Stage 18 just seconds back.
