Users worldwide report problems with Instagram such as sign-in errors and timed-out content. Downdetector data shows a rapid rise in outage reports matching these issues. Both the app and website appear affected concurrently. Meta has yet to release a statement about the disruption as of 22 July 2026. Reports matching have been noted across its parent platform, Messenger and Instagram at the same time.
